To determine the aerodynamic performance data of a fan impeller, the characteristic curves are recorded on the punker test benches. Test bench setups are described in ISO 5801. The measurements are carried out in our R&D laboratory on suction-side chamber test benches with different air flow rates.
During the aerodynamic measurements, the sound pressure of the fan impeller is recorded simultaneously. The test specimen is positioned within an enveloping surface with microphones. The method used to determine the sound power of the test specimen is described in DIN EN ISO 3746.
