Tablets, Teamwork & Transformation - Implementation of a new digital PDA system

What happens when teams from Germany and the US come together to rethink production? In Lincolnton, North Carolina, we’ve taken a big step forward by implementing a new digital PDA system – enabling real-time data collection, increasing efficiency, and bringing our global sites even closer together.

In April, our colleagues from the digitalization team at punker Group headquarters in Eckernfoerde - Gunnar and Simon - visited our production site in Lincolnton, North Carolina. Their mission: successfully implement a digital Production Data Acquisition (PDA) system together with Ashwanth, Maverick and Christian from punker LLC.

The project brought 14 tablets directly on the shop floor, installed at each machine to enable real-time data collection. The goal? Streamlined workflows, improved transparency, and smarter production. This isn't just a tech upgrade - it's a leap toward the future. Reducing paper & errors, boosting sustainability and cross-site collaboration are just a few benefits to mention.
